Power Academy at Tenoroc High School receives Workforce Legacy Award
Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of gathering with Lakeland Leads for an awards ceremony honoring Polk County School career academies and business partners in the Lakeland area. Former Gov. Jeb Bush served as the keynote speaker.  During the event, academies were honored for their roles in education and partnerships. We are pleased to announce Lakeland Electric’s Power Academy received the Workforce Legacy Award. Mike Beckham, General Manager of Lakeland Electric, and Jason Looney, Principal of Tenoroc High School, were in attendance to accept the award on behalf of Lakeland Electric’s Power Academy.
Lakeland Electric Power Academy sparks the drive in its students to become skilled and high-performing employees who can succeed in their careers as well as pursue any of their high educational goals. Lakeland Electric Power Academy is a four-year program focused on preparing a diverse student body for entry into college, technical schools, or the skilled labor workforce. We at Lakeland Electric are very proud of this program that is contributing to our City’s bright future.

Congratulations to all honorees and winners:
– Academy of the Year: Central Florida Aerospace Academy (part of Kathleen High)
