Lakeland Electric thanks our customers for the privilege of serving them, especially after Hurricane Ian roared through Polk County just six days ago. The Category 4 hurricane left our service area in disrepair but offered us an opportunity to pull together as a community and overcome the impact. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our employees, everyone that has reached out to help us, and the rest of Florida. Your support during the recovery from this historic storm has been phenomenal and will not be forgotten.
All storm-related outages have been restored to those able to receive power and we are back to our normal operations. Some customers with damage to the electrical components they are responsible for were not ready to receive power. What you're responsible for, and what is the responsibility of Lakeland Electric? Once repairs have been completed, please call (863) 834-9535 to request your service be reconnected.
Street lights and private area lights will be repaired in the coming weeks. Now that power has been restored, we hope your lives are getting back to normal too.
To assist our customers as they recover from the storm, we will delay disconnection for accounts until October 24. All delinquent amounts must be posted to your account on or before 5 p.m. October 23, 2022, to prevent service disruption. We have also waived late fees from September 28, 2022, to October 23, 2022. Late fees will begin again Monday, October 24, for any unpaid balances due. If you have questions about your bill, please call our Customer Service Center at 863-834-9535 or email CustomerService@lakelandelectric.com.
